Update:
Damsel is coming along great with her training. She's now
about 2 1/2 years old. Still a little skittish with new
people, but is getting much better. She loves the spring
weather and will run around the back yard playing with her
foster brother and sisters as well as play fetch. She
really loves car rides and walks. Come out and see her at
the events, but to really see her in full character and fun,
you'll have to see her in a home environment, so put in an
application and come out to see her.
Damsel was rescued in August, 2009
from a puppy mill in Missouri. When Lab Rescue received her
she was afraid of humans, wouldn't eat or come in from
outside unless she was on a leash. Now she has earned the
trust of her foster parent, sleeps on the floor on her own
bed and follows her around the house. She loves to go on
car rides or take walks, although she is still a little
skittish at loud noises/cars, she's learning to work through
it.
She's never growled, bitten or
lashed out at any human and LOVES other dogs. In fact, she
will only be adopted to a house that has another dog - she's
a follower and would not do well on her own. Another
recommendation is a quite house, it's not that she doesn't
like children, it's just they scare her with sudden
movements.
Damsel is between 2 and 3 years
old up to date on shots and all monthly preventatives.
She's a super sweet dog that deserves a wonderful home for a
second chance at life. In the months she's been with Lab
Rescue, she's come a long way. If your willing to put in a
little extra time and effort, she'll make you a wonderful
companion.
