India is a gorgeous chocolate girl who is about 18 months to 2 years old. She has beautiful brown eyes and not a mean bone in her body with other dogs or people. She is truly a lover. She's a little puppyish, but more dog than puppy. We believe India has had a litter of pups in what we would call her teenage years. She loves people and will bond quickly with a human. She will stick with you like Velcro where every you go. When all the other dogs are on their beds, she is always with me near my feet, very sweet girl. When we go to Grand Lake she follows me off leash and is always close by or with the other dogs.
India was diagnosed with heartworms. At her young age, they cannot be that bad. She will begin her treatment the week of May 20th and must be kept calm and under Lab Rescue's care until the treatment is complete which is about 6 weeks. If and approved adopter would like to meet her, arrangements can be made.
Heartworms are preventable, all it takes is a pill given by the human caretaker once a month to the dog. The treatment to clear the dog of the worms is costly and hard on the dogs. Lab Rescue does not feel this is a reason to euthanize a dog and chooses to treat them, any donations would be appreciated.
