Harper is an 8-year young black lab, approximately 75 pounds, who came to us from an area shelter.  He is housebroken and crate trained, loves to go for rides, and loves any person of any age who will give him attention.  When you see the energy this guy has, you will not believe he is 8 years old.  I believe he was probably put out in the back yard by his original owner and given no attention at all.  He gets along better with older dogs than he does the younger ones, as the young ones seem to irritate him sometimes.  He would probably do better as an only dog as he likes all your attention directed to him!   He is a very smart boy and has picked up basic training very quickly.

Update: Harper really looks a lot younger in person than his original photo shows.  He has been a wonderful dog and I think he has gotten over almost all of his fears.  He has not gone to the bathroom in the house for a long time.  He makes a great companion and for the right people he would make a fantastic addition.  He just wants a little attention but is not over demanding.  When I come home he gets really excited but never jumps up on me or tries to stop me from petting Atticus and Koda.  He has started this thing where he runs around in circles and sort of jumps and spins when he is really happy.  Just give him a good home and he will be the best friend anyone could want.
