Lily is a small (50 lbs) 2 year old yellow female (polar bear white) whose time ran out at a local shelter.  She was so sweet that Lab Rescue found room for her even though they were full. She had her last set of puppies recently and her milk sacks are drying up.  She is now spayed and current on vaccinations.  She is crate and house trained and loves to lay at your feet.  She is a quiet girl who is underweight and her coat is thin due to poor nutrition but she is gradually fattening up and her coat will grow back in.  She loves cats and other dogs and likes to play.  She will fetch a few times but is more interested in being petted.  She is the perfect lady, she doesn't jump on you or try to get on the furniture. She doesn't appear to be a chewer. She likes to carry around stuffed toys and gnaw on bones. She crates well. She walks nicely on a leash and would probably enjoy a house with kids as she doesn't mind being patted and pulled on.

Lily had an emergency visit to the doggie ER on the weekend at 2 in the morning and is being treated for pneumonia. She is feeling better now but she will not be available for adoption for a few more weeks. She is currently lounging around the house recuperating and enjoying a gourmet diet of fish served on whole wheat toast and sauna treatments.  In lieu of cards and treats she would appreciate any donations to help cover her medical visit.

Update: Lily's follow up visit to the vet went well. She is almost completely recovered from pneumonia and mastitis and put on 5 lbs. She is expected to be available for adoption in about a week.

Update: Lily is now available for adoption.  Her coat is improving daily. Her milk sacks have reduced in size significantly and are almost completely back to normal. She is putting on weight daily and is almost to a healthy weight. We originally thought she was 2 but as her true personality has shown through since she has been feeling better, we think it is closer to 18 months. She is playful and has been left uncrated in the house with her foster brother for 3 to 4 hours while her foster mom was working and has not exhibited any destructive behaviors though she was sleeping on the couch. She is calm by nature but enjoys running and playing with others. She loves the water.
