Hi I'm Doogle and I'm about 16 weeks old.  I was picked up by animal control after being discovered stuck  in a manhole.  My foster mom was at the shelter when they brought me in - she says I was a skeleton on legs and would have been a goner in a couple of days.  I was emaciated and covered in mud, blood from a variety of cuts (especially on my paws) and feces - yuck. After 3 days the shelter asked my foster mom to come get me so I wouldn't get sick. My foster mom cleaned me up and discovered I like water and she has been shoveling food into me.  At first I would bark and jump up and grab onto my foster mom's clothes with my mouth and wrap my paws around her leg and cling like a cat.  I didn't want to be left alone but my foster mom says I am wicked smart because I learned almost immediately if I quit doing that and sat down and scooted real close she would give me lots of attention.  I do really good in a crate and will sleep through the night. I also like to use the bathroom in the same place outside once you show me where you want me to go.  I also like her other dogs and cats.  I do try to guard my toys and food from the other dogs cause I've been hungry for so long. My foster mom laughed at me because I couldn't decide which was more important.  She says I will quit doing that soon because it is not "appropriate behavior for a gentleman" and I always do what she says. She has included some pictures of me when she first got me - this is after eating good meals for 3 days at the shelter.  Don't cry.  If you think these are bad, you should have seen my shelter picture.  I am slowly fattening up and look much better now.  You can see how swollen my belly is - I just ate it was delicious. I'm also no longer scared and sad.  She says I have a bounce in my step and a smile on my face.  She will take some new pictures of me soon so you can see how much better I look after 5 days of good food.

You can put your application in on me but I am not quite ready to go to a new home because I need another set of vaccinations first.  I will also have to be neutered later so I can only be adopted to someone in the local area.
