Pearce is a sweet 3-year old black labbie who is a true rescue.  As you can see, he is gorgeous.  He is housebroken, well mannered and very calm.  He gets along great with people and other dogs.  He was rescued by a nice couple in Bartlesville who could not keep him.  They cleaned him up, took him to the vet and tried to find his owners but when they couldn't, they contacted us.  As it turns out, it is probably a good thing they didn't find his previous owners!  When Pearce first came to us, he was diagnosed with heartworms.  While recuperating from this treatment, the foster noticed that his teeth looked really bad.  Once the heartworm treatment was completed, we got him back into the vet to get his teeth cleaned and checked out.  Turns out that he had teeth broken off at the gum line due to being kicked very hard in the mouth or hit with a blunt object so hard that it broke his teeth off at the gum line.  The vet said the damage was definitely caused by abuse.  They also removed the remnants of a .22 shell from his shoulder.  His teeth are all fixed up now and the bullet is gone.  Despite being kicked, beat and shot, this is the most trusting and loving Labbie you will ever meet.  He is living, walking proof of the forgiving and loving nature of dogs.  Even though the humans in his past have caused him so much pain, he wants only to love and please his fosters.  Please take this wonderful Labbie into your home and give him the loving forever family he so very much deserves.
