Meet sweet, sweet Martha, she's 1-2 years old rescued from the local shelter just before her time was up.  Coming into the foster home, she's timid and shy but each day her personality comes out a little more.  Watch for more updates as she gains weight and gets used to her new surroundings.
We've learned she has been diagnosed with heartworms, which is completely preventable by simply giving a pill once a month.  Heartworms are only transmitted by the bite of a mosquito so it doesn't matter if the dog is inside or outside, he/she still needs protection.  Once Lab Rescue completes her treatments, Martha will be good as new.  Treatment for heartworms is costly any donations or sponsorships would be appreciated.
UPDATE: Martha is doing very well in our home.  She's shy & timid, slowly becoming more comfortable with us and her personality is showing more & more everyday.  She is sweet and very gentle.  Loves kids of all ages, does well with other dogs and walks well on a leash.  She loves to sleep either at the foot of the bed or in her own doggie bed.  She doesn't use a crate because she is so good.  She is great inside-doesn't eat anything that isn't intended for her and is house trained.  She is a wonderful inside dog.  She loves to hang out in the living room watching TV with you.
