Meet Sadie O. She was surrendered along with her sister Jackie O when their owners moved to a house with a very small yard. She is 4 ½ yrs old, housebroken, knows basic commands, and is good around other dogs and children. When I first brought her home she was very shy and stayed away from us.  After about an hour she figured out no one was going to hurt her and she came out and just laid at our feet.  This is her favorite place to be, right there with you.  She just wants to be loved like any other family member.  It took her about a week to feel totally comfortable with the routine of the house, but now she feels like she owns the place and goes everywhere.  When she's happy and wags her tail, the whole back half of her body wags too and she's happy all the time-so she's wiggling all the time too.  While she is GREAT with kids, she will run from sudden movements.  Please come out and see her great personality, I know you'll fall in love.
While she's a beautiful girl, she has been diagnosed with heartworms and will begin her treatments soon.  These treatments are costly, time consuming and not to very pleasant for the dog.
If you can make any donation to help with medical expenses, it would help.

1/1/09 - Update!!!   Sadie O has now completed her heartworm treatment and ready for adoption.  She'll lead a normal dog life now.  She is a wonderful dog as I've said above, very easy going, puts up with just about anything and anyone.  She will still jump at sudden movements, but not a harmful bone in her body.  She loves other dogs, not sure about cats.  If you have a dog bed, you can be sure that's where she'll be 99% of the time.  So if you're looking for a dog that requires low maintenance and just lays at your feet - she's the one.
