Apache is a bright, sweet 3 year old black lab.  He came to us with heartworms and has completed his treatment and is doing wonderfully.  He knows his basic commands, walks well on a leash and is completely housetrained. Apache loves to be with his humans, whether laying beside them or playing tug of war.  We often have to call our other lab in to help with the tug of war.   He gets along with all other dogs and only loves to play with them.  He has been around cats and ferrets and doesn't pay attention to them (probably a good sign).  He likes to play with toys but hasn't chewed on anything that wasn't "his".  He isn't the alpha dog and lets the other dogs be the boss if they want to.  

Apache is such a sweet and loving lab.  He would do well around small children and other animals.  Apache will make a GREAT forever family pet.  He loves to be around all family members equally and hasn't shown favoritism toward one person or another, whether male or female.  This bright eyed, friendly sweetheart won't last long.

Apache was heartworm positive. Heartworms are easily preventable with one pill a month. However, the treatment is expensive, lengthy and hard on the dogs. Please help us continue to treat these neglected dogs by a donation. Every little bit helps. Thanks.
