Lombardi is a 2-3 year old male. He has been microchipped. He has a massive head, think rottweller size. He is regaining his weight back quickly and I expect he will top out in the 80 lbs range. He walks well on a leash (doesn't need a pinch) and is very good in the house. He settles down fairly quickly and will follow you around and plop down nearby. He will go into his crate when told and will usually only whine a few minutes before settling down. He is fond of the water and likes to chase toys around. He doesn't seem to be a destructive chewer and rides well in vehicles. He is dog friendly and loves to play but not cat friendly. We are working on that. In one week he has come a long way from focusing on the cat as prey and whining and carrying on wanting to get the cat to ignoring the cat unless it makes sudden unexpected moves. He is also refocusing quickly when corrected. However at this point he is not a dog you would leave alone in a room with a cat. He showed a tendancy to be a fence climber at the shelter in Arkansas so he will need a 6 foot, invisible, or electric fence. He loves to be petted and wrestled with and will plop his big head in your lap for attention. He also stays off the furniture. |
